Bonobo has been an active artist on the Ninja Tune label since joining in 2000. He has has released 4 albums to date. Bonobo has evolved from a sample-based producer to touring with a live band, (comparable to Cinematic Orchestra on the same label)....a common trend among electronic artists these days it seems. The song above, Kong, comes from his latest album "Black Sands" and stuffs breakbeats, groovy basslines and samples into its 3:57 timeline (there's some jazz in it too). The album is as laid back as the man himself, Simon Green, who took a leisurely 4 years to put this album together and im guessing it wasn't an intensive 4 years as the chillout album would testify. One thing's for sure, he has found a knack for atmospheric multi-layered tunes that are as short as they are sweet. Enjoy.
